About
Welcome to Williamson's Exotics!
Born out of our mutual passion and love for gardening and obscure, different, edible & exotic plants and trees, we have established this hobby business.

James' interest in the weird and wonderful lead him to a point where the trees he wanted where only sold in minimum orders of ten... Jess told him if he wanted to plant a pine forest so badly, we better get more land or get creative about what to do with the other 90 trees he wanted to order.

We did both! And so this was born...

Our Vision
We believe it is really important to encourage, nurture and facilitate the next generations connection to the earth, our food and land. Ours are not the children who wouldn't be able to tell you what kind of plant something comes off in the supermarket, in fact Josh very loudly told a lady at the supermarket recently that she shouldn't buy those strawberries at this time of year as they are out of season and from the other side of the world.

About the Williamson's...
James & Jess Williamson
We live in semi-rural North-West Auckland with our two young boys, Josh (4) and Jai (18 months), our dog and our five chickens.

We are in a constant process of planting and gardening at our place and we love to get out as a family and do projects together getting our hands and feet dirty!

Being connected with nature is good for all of us and growing your own food is not only rewarding but can save you a great deal of money!

And it doesn't have to be hard.. One of the main reasons we love trees is that planting your own wee orchard requires very little upkeep long term but has great yield potential.
And there is nothing cooler than hanging in the garden in summer under the shade of the trees and picking your own assortment of picnic food from the branches overhead!
